Lumberjack

Here's my inspiration from Nate Williams

His illustrations are very flat and he also uses background textures, so I did a combination of them!

Here's my poster: I tried to make the lumberjack flat, and make the hand drawn text be the tree.

...and now here is my FINAL poster with the revisions :

Here's my font Lumberjack font:

  1. I really like the cutout feel that you have got going on.

  2. In looking at it today I am not totally sold on the blue behind the tree. I think it makes me want to focus more on the way the lines interact as opposed to reading the type in the tree. Maybe letting it fill the entire space would help or taking it out.

Also his one leg looks a little confusing since he does not exactly have a full set of pants (at least it appears that way. Maybe give him a little more pant and a hint of a second leg.

Other then that though I love the poster!

  3. I agree with Jade I think a solid light blue might fit a little better with your style. I really like how you fit all your type in the tree, and your saying is really funny and fits well. In your alphabet I really enjoy the letters "F" and "E".

  4. Katie, can your font be downloaded and used in Photoshop? Sorry I'm not really sure how to do this? :)
